Giuliani says Flynn offenses like 'spitting on the sidewalk,' calls Mueller team 'sick puppies'

President Trump's attorney Rudolph Giuliani told Fox News on Tuesday night that former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn had admitted to offenses comparable to "spitting on the sidewalk" after Special Counsel Robert Mueller recommended minimal prison time for the former three-star Army general. In a sentencing memorandum and a heavily redacted addendum filed Tuesday evening, Mueller's team said Flynn had met with investigators 19 times and provided "substantial" help to investigators about "several ongoing investigations." In addition, prosecutors said Flynn had provided "firsthand information about the content and context of interactions between the [Trump] transition team and Russian government officials." In response, Giuliani told Fox News that nothing in the sentencing memo suggested collusion between Trump and Russian officials. The former New York City mayor lambasted the Mueller team as "overzealous media-inspired

Les Moonves misled investigators, destroyed evidence in sexual misconduct probe: report

Former CBS CEO Les Moonves, who resigned in September  following a slew of sexual misconduct allegations made against him, "destroyed evidence" related to the case, according to a report released Tuesday night. Moonves, 69, was trying to save his reputation at the network, and his multimillion-dollar severance package, when he "misled investigators" working on behalf of the company, The New York Times reported, citing a 59-page report drafted for the CBS board. FORMER CBS EXEC LES MOONVES ACCUSED OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT BY ACTRESS BOBBIE PHILLIPS IN NYT REPORT The draft, according to The Times, said Moonves "engaged in multiple acts of serious nonconsensual sexual misconduct in and outside of the workplace, both before and after he came to CBS in 1995.” Moonves resigned from the company after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct in two New Yorker articles written by Ronan Farrow. Moonves said the accusations were "appalling" and fals

Mueller memo says Michael Flynn has provided 'substantial assistance,' recommends lenient sentence

Special Counsel Robert Mueller filed a memorandum Tuesday recommending a lenient sentence -- with the possibility of no prison time -- for convicted former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and stating that Flynn has offered "substantial" help to investigators about "several ongoing investigations." The bombshell release comes as additional sentencing memorandums are expected within days in the cases of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen and ex-campaign chairman Paul Manafort, amid multiple reports and indications that the long-running Mueller probe into ties between President Trump's team and Russia is winding down. “Given the defendant’s substantial assistance and other considerations set forth below, a sentence at the low end of the guideline range, including a sentence that does not impose a term of incarceration – is appropriate and warranted," the memo states. Flynn sat for 19 interviews with the Special Counsel's office and other De

Teacher placed on leave over KKK-themed holiday jingle

DOVER, N.H. – The teacher for a class in New Hampshire in which students were videotaped singing about the Ku Klux Klan to the tune of "Jingle Bells" has been placed on paid administrative leave. Dover Superintendent William Harbron told Foster's Daily Democrat Tuesday that putting John Carver on leave will allow school officials to fully investigate what happened. Cellphone footage surfaced over the weekend of the students singing, "KKK, KKK, Let's kill all the blacks," in class at Dover High School. Harbron said in a letter to the school community Monday the incident was part of a class assignment about the Reconstruction period in American history. Carver has not responded to requests for comment. The president of the Dover Teachers' Union says they are working with school officials to determine the facts.
